It is important to keep your Mac’s software up-to-date. Apple are always bringing out security updates, bug fixes and software upgrades which are all free. All of these keep your machine running as efficiently, stably and securely as possible. Software update will automatically ‘pop up’ when it has new software for you to download and install. However you can manually check for new software updates by clicking on the apple symbol in the top left hand corner of your screen and then selecting ‘Software Update…’ which is the second option from the top.

After checking for new available software you will be presented with a list of updates. Click install and type in your account password to verify.
