‘If you smoke, I smoke’

‘If you smoke I smoke’ is the tagline for the current stop smoking campaign in the UK. Who would have thought passive smoking and how it may damage the health of innocent victims applies to the computer too!

I had a machine in for repair recently the fault was that it would not turn on. Once I had the lid off I could see why, there was a layer of tar covering every component in the machine. The sticky substance had built up over time and in some places was quite thick. Both the logic board and power supply had failed resulting in a costly repair.

So if you do smoke near your beloved mac be mindful of the damage it may be causing because smoke damage = accidental damage and that is not covered by your warranty!
