It was a thoroughly satisfying visit to the store this morning and the young man who served me couldn’t have been more charming.. He was the only person serving as the shop had literally just opened..

Reason for Visit: iMove and Logic Training

The fact that your shop offered affordable training convinced me to buy a Mac through Farpoint as I’d always used a PC prior to this. 

Paul also set up the Mac for me which was great because I’m not very technical when it comes to computers so that was very reassuring. 

The training has been invaluable in helping me get the most out of my music and video software.

Reason for Visit: MacBook Pro / iPad Business Rental

I’d originally intended to just rent a Mac Book Pro for a presentation but Mark was kind enough to also loan me an iPad (despite them not officially being up for rental) as I thought I might be able to find some use for in my presentation. 

I’ve been a little ‘on the fence’ about the iPad but found it so useful that I didn’t even take the Mac Book Pro out of its box during the rental period. 

I will now be buying an iPad for my next suitable presentation.

 From this I conclude that you should be renting iPads - I’ve no doubt that many of those on the fence about the iPad (as I was) will go on to buy one if they spend any time with it. Suffice to say that I’ve gone from not really knowing what use I’d get out of an iPad to missing it badly after only a few days use.  -  Karl Lloyd

Reason for Visit: Repair of MacBook Pro

This is just a quick message to all concerned who helped repair my MacBook Pro, in particular to Dave and & Rob. 

Your successful appeal on my behalf to Apple in the US to get the repair done at their expense rather than mine leaves me more grateful than words can express.  The service you provided on this occasion was only matched my the service I have received every time I have visited your store in the past.  It is exemplary and second to none.  

You can be sure that when this laptop does eventually come to the end of its natural life I will be making a beeline straight to your door for my next purchase.

Reason for Visit: Technical Problem

I was on a visit to Bath yesterday and called into the new Apple Store on Southgate.

I told one of their Geniuses that since installing Windows 7 on my PC my Apple TV no longer appeared as a device in iTunes and I have been bamboozled for 2 weeks to fix it

His suggestion was to create a new account and try that !

I called into Farpoint at 1 pm on Friday and your colleague ( I didn’t get his name but he had a beard ) identified a suggestion and printed out  the steps to fix the problem

I have just tried his suggestion and success

Please give your proper genius  a virtual pat on the back from me

Reason for Visit: Laptop Repair

I am very impressed with Ben. As soon as he realised that my daughter needed her computer back for coursework (as her computer contains programmes that we don’t have on ours) , he daily kept me informed, by email, as to how the repair was progressing.

When apple failed to send the correct part, which then delayed the repair by another 24 hours, he spoke to me personally to explain the situation. He assured me that the correct part would be in the next day, he had spoken to apple to confirm this and that as soon as the part was in he would repair the computer so that we could collect it. In the shop, he showed incredible patience when I wanted to be really sure it worked.

I know that there can be long waiting times in the shop, but when you are served, or the advisors/assiatants give you plenty of time, plenty of advice, patience as they go over the same thing again. I am prepared to wait my time, because of the quality of service I get when it is my time.

Reason for Visit: iMac Purchase

The products and Rob were absolutely fantastic, the whole experience from when I first entered to when we left was far beyond anything I have ever experienced before. Rob’s knowledge, passion for the products and offer of post-sale help and advice (which we did use with probably 3-4 phone calls over the subsequent 2 weeks) was sensational.

This was my best ever retail customer experience and I have already recommended your shop and products to many friends and colleagues.

We’ve been with Farpoint since we started Osborne Pike in 2002. Wandering around Bath in search of a bank, accountant, solicitor, and all the usual start-up necessities, we were surprised to see the iconic Apple sign hanging outside a small shop on a side street. We discovered to our surprise that this was a small but perfectly formed Apple dealership in Bath, and we ordered the latest Macs immediately. As a bonus Farpoint were also able to rent us a top quality laser printer, so we could get started straight away.

Being a start-up we didn’t have an IT manager, and we probably never will. That’s because Mark Hooper is always extremely helpful when it comes to the technical and even the administrative support that comes with setting up a computer network. As we’ve grown Mark has supplied all our Mac workstations and screens, our servers, and he’s also helped us move the whole lot twice. On top of that we get the latest updates of ‘kit’, to use what I believe is the technical term, every 18 months, so we’re always working with state of the art equipment.

Farpoint has now grown and developed as part of the Apple success story, and their new showroom is as cool and trendy as you’d expect from a company that now deals with i-pod, i-tunes and i-everything consumers as well as businesses. But I’m pleased to say that we still get very responsive and competitively-priced service from Mark and his team, and I would thoroughly recommend Farpoint to any business, either starting up or looking to upgrade its network.
